Sexy ethical lingerie...made from wood!

Lingerie is one of the most exciting sectors in terms of unusual and sustainable materials at the moment, but wood is a new one on me. Yet a new collection on sale at By Nature uses recycled white pine-tree prunings to make underwear that's 'as soft as silk'.

The 'Mya' range (pictured) is by French designer Sophie Young, who uses selected parts of sustainably-grown pine trees in a process that coincides with normal pruning. In other words, no trees died to make your undies. She then colours the garments with non-toxic dyes. All items are put together in France, providing extra employment to a small village and avoiding the cheap, inethical outsourcing favoured by many fashion brands.

Available at By Nature.
